Silvia Copper-Gold

Silvia Copper-Gold

The Silvia Project, located in the Department of Huanuco in central Peru, comprises 16 granted mining concessions for 10,906 hectares (109 km2). A drone magnetic survey consisting of 121 line-kilometres was completed at the Silvia NW copper-gold target during 2023. Several magnetic anomalies are interpreted to be associated with mineralized skarn bodies and/or associated with potentially mineralizing intrusions. Copper-gold mineralization at Silvia NW is associated with outcropping skarn (Note: Skarn is an altered rock that forms at the contact between mineralizing intrusions and limestone which can host high-grade copper mineralization in the form of Cu sulphides). Skarn at Area A, one of three main targets at Silvia NW, sampled up to 2.7% copper and 22 g/t gold, with the single best continuous trench sampling 46 metres at 0.8% copper and 1.9 g/t gold. The copper mineralization is associated with chalcopyrite, while gold as native gold.

Tinka received an environmental drilling permit (“DIA”) from the Peruvian authorities at Silvia NW in 2024. Once community agreements are finalized, the Company can then submit a request to the government to initiate drilling activities. Final approval for drilling activities is expected early 2025.

Location and Infrastructure

Map 1: Location of the Tinka’s projects in central Peru

Tinka holds a total of 77 granted mining concessions in central Peru covering 28,915 hectares (289 km2) held by two 100%-owned subsidiary companies: Tinka Resources S.A.C. holds 59 granted mining concessions covering 16,809 hectares of the Ayawilca zinc-silver-tin project in the Department of Pasco (also includes Colquipucro silver project which is 1.5 km north of the Ayawilca Zinc Zone); the other properties include the Silvia copper silver project which is located adjacent the Ayawilca and Tinka’s Pampahuasi gold project, which are held by Tinka’s other subsidiary, Darwin Peru S.A.C.

Silvia Copper-Gold Project is strategically located adjacent to the company's flagship Ayawilca Zinc-Silver-Tin Project in central Peru. This close proximity to Ayawilca allows Tinka to leverage existing infrastructure and expertise in the region, enhancing the efficiency of exploration and potential future development. The Silvia project lies within the highly mineralized Andean belt, an area renowned for its rich deposits of copper and gold. With easy access to roads and power, as well as the benefits of being in a well-established mining region, the Silvia project is positioned to be a significant addition to Tinka's portfolio, offering exciting exploration potential in a world-class mining jurisdiction.

Geology & Mineralization

The Silvia Project consists of 16 granted concessions for 10,906 hectares, located in the Department of Huanuco in central Peru. Mineralized copper-gold bearing skarn bodies outcrop at several locations within the project area. The project was acquired from BHP in 2021 for a 1% NSR royalty on the properties and a one-time cash payment. No previous drilling is known on any of the properties. Maps below show the geology of the Silvia and Ayawilca project, and the airborne magnetics over the same area. Silvia is hosted by the Cretaceous age Jumasha Formation limestone, the same limestone that hosts the world-class Antamina copper-zinc mine 100 km to the north. Magnetic highs are associated with mineralizing intrusions (‘hot’ areas on the magnetic image) and in places, outcropping copper-gold bearing skarns especially at the “Silvia NW” target area.

Map 2: Geological map of Silvia and Ayawilca projects

At Silvia NW, copper-gold bearing skarn outcrops over an area covering approximately 4 km2 associated with various diorite and granodiorite intrusions and dikes. A map of Silvia NW with an interpretive geological cross section is included below. The largest of the skarn outcrops, “Area A”, covers an area of around 500 metres by 100 metres, where surface channel samples up to 2.7% copper and 22 g/t gold over 2 metres have been sampled. A single channel sample at Area A returned 46 metres grading 0.8% copper and 1.9 g/t gold - news release Nov 10/21. The Company carried out a drone magnetic survey in 2024, resulting in several magnetic anomalies on the property which are either associated with buried intrusions or potentially copper-gold mineralization, which occurs in association with magnetite. The Silvia NW area is also believed to be prospective for a porphyry copper-gold system at depth.

The Company received in early 2024 an approved environmental drilling permit (“DIA”) from the Peruvian authorities at Silvia NW. Negotiations are continuing with the local community for an agreement to allow a drill program. Once the community agreements are finalised, the Company can submit a request to the government to initiate drilling activities. Final approval for drilling activities is expected early 2025.
